Reflection

you talked to me
        this morning
	with tears in your eyes
        and a heavy heart
	worrying about your mom

and I have tears in my eyes
	in this moment
	sharing your sadness
	as I write

I do not know your mother
	your source of today's sadness
	as she moves quietly
	along in her life's path

and yet somehow
	I do have a clear view

I can see her value
	through what I see in you
	the sparkle in your eye
	the joy you bring
	to those around you
	are but a  reflection
	of what it is she has given you
	and even more 
	what you too 
	are passing on
	as you also grow
	and share 
	throughout this lifetime
