I am perfectly human
that is to say
perfectly imperfect
and blessed with being
the absolute best
I can be
I am the real deal
I have the integrity
to say what I mean
and to mean what I say
(or what I write)
plus the steel in my backbone
to keep my promises
sealed with a hand shake
or with a kiss – depending
and yes
still today
I would defend
our “Grand Old Flag”
and our “Sacred Honor”
with my life

2/1/04 For Tina Verona WI JLW [106T]you talked to me this morning with tears in your eyes and a heavy heart worrying about your momand I have tears in my eyes in this moment sharing your sadness as I writeI do not know your mother your source of today’s sadness as she moves quietly along in her life’s pathand yet somehow I do have a clear viewI can see her value through what I see in you the sparkle in your eye the joy you bring to those around you are but a reflection of what it is she has given you and even more what you too are passing on as you also grow and share throughout this lifetime
